UMW Toyota Motor Sdn. Bhd. announced the winners of the 16th Toyota Dream Car Art Contest, rewarding and acknowledging creativity and expression of children through their winning artworks.
A total of three winners were selected from three categories. (Category 1: 7 years old and under; Category 2: 8 to 11 years old; and Category 3: 12 to 15 years old). The top 3 winners were chosen from thousands of submissions for the national phase of the global event.
"We are delighted to receive more than 2,300 entries this year. All the submissions were extremely invigorating and stimulating, with so many fresh and novel ideas. Selecting the winners was indeed very challenging. I would like to applaud all the participants for expressing themselves so well," said Datuk Ravindran K, President of UMW Toyota Motor.
The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest, first held in 2004, is one of the largest global art contests for children. Through this event, Toyota aims to encourage and inspire creativity amongst children, share their dreams on how cars can make the world better, through their art. Children all over Malaysia have been participating in the global contest since 2013.
The top three of each category winners are:
[1] Yu Wan Yan (Category 1; 7 years old and under)
[2] Lee Ruo Lin (Category 2; 8 to 11 years old)
[3] Jason Chan Kin Lock (Category 3; 12 to 15 years old)
Each year, children from all over the world have shared their ideas about the future of mobility, with some 530,000 entries received for the 2022 event. In total, the global contest received 8 million artworks from children all over 140 different countries and regions to date.
The winners for the global contest of each of the above categories will be announced by Toyota Motor Corporation in August 2023.
